The GIN eportfolio and supporting resources (such as DOPS forms) are available to all JAG members. Please contact your local facilitator
or askgin@rcplondon.ac.uk if you require a user account.
Please note the JAG are currently working with stakeholders to develop an updated ePortfolio and full suite of resources.
During this development work, where offered by training centres, the Train the Nurse Trainers course will be available. This course
costs £150 per delegate and will be advertised and booked via www.jets.nhs.uk/GIN. The GIN day
and facilitators courses are no longer available.
Sustainability/Local Facilitator
The aim of the GIN Programme is to create training and development that is sustainable at a local level. For this reason, we ask each unit to
nominate a Local Facilitator to be responsible for training of the team. This person will be an experienced endoscopy nurse who will have
experience in teaching and/or mentorship. The Local Facilitator is responsible for supporting the training and development of the local
team and for providing evidence to support the development of the unit as part of the quality assurance process.
Information for Unit Managers
If your service are already participating in the GIN programme you would have already appointed a Local Facilitator. The GIN programme is supported by an associated ePortfolio.
The GIN programme is supported by an associated e-portfolio. Please note that if your Local Facilitator's training is not up to date, he/she will not be permitted
to access the e-Portfolio. We encourage units to have two Local Facilitators and these roles must have full management support.
